Betty gets interviewed!

If you are so inclined, you can head on over to Amber Ostrich’s web site, a local estate sale company, and read an interview they did with me about my vintage selling business! ย Don’t mind my goofy pictures though – I’m the most un-photogenic person in all the land.

Very cool! And the photos are great, you silly skirts!

Great interview and I adore that dress! I live in Detroit and would love to do a blogger meet up the next time you are in town! ๐Ÿ™‚

Emily, it’s a deal! I’ll probably be up there in the spring sometime.

Bad photos? No way, you are too cute! ๐Ÿ™‚ And I love your vintage style. The wall with the Enid Collins purses is pure AWESOME!

Thanks Marty! And those purses are my obsession. I don’t buy them too often anymore but I’m still always on the lookout for a few I’d like to score!

Nice interview. I live in the ‘burbs north of Detroit and I don’t think our thrift stores are anything to write home about, though I’ve recently started to go to estate sales. I can really get hooked on going to those! I’m with Emily-a meetup would be fun.

Karen, we’ll totally do a meetup! Thrift stores are so hit and miss. I don’t depend on them too much. Estate sales are where it’s at!

First of all, I thought your name WAS Betty..lol…and, you are photogenic (and, really young!). I’m surprised when Special Needs teachers are let go…we are in great need out here (I have an autistic child who goes to a Special Needs school)…but, glad you had this vintage passion to dive into & share with others. Visiting blogs & crafting is my own form of stress relief from the hardship of taking care of a child with autism.

Tammy, SPED teachers are in big demand here too but Texas has slashed public education to such a degree that no one is safe. The year I got laid off, Austin, where I live, laid off 11% of their teachers. Crazy. Plus I was in a very specialized position, so I was one of the first to go. I know how challenging it can be to care for a child with autism – my hat goes off to you! But I love working with special needs kids – when my students had a success it was so rewarding because I knew how hard they had worked for it!
